80 children who are patients at Children’s Health, received a big surprise from Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić according to a Plano Magazine article from October 19,
“Despite preparing for the beginning of basketball season, Dallas Mavericks star Luka arranged to have special gifts delivered to 80 patients at Children’s Health Plano and Dallas. They received a pair of Jordan sneakers, a Jordan drawstring bag, a hoodie, and socks. Also included were a letter from Luka and a signed photo. To ensure the health and safety of the patients, each gift bad was hand-delivered by a Children’s Health team member.
Each delivery also included crayons and a “Luka & Bobi” coloring book, featuring the animated best-friend relationship between Luka and his Mavericks teammate Boban Marjanovic. The “Luka & Bobi” video series debuted last season and has been shared with Children’s patients.
To make the day even more special, patients along with their families and hospital staff were treated to pizza as well as frosted cookies adorned with Dončić’s number 77.”
In addition, Dončić also launched his very own foundation dedicated to giving back to the community A Mavs article from October 20 quoted the player,
“I’m launching the new Luka Dončić Foundation here in Dallas,” Dončić shared with the audience. “I also have a foundation in Slovenia. It’s my way of showing appreciation to both places and giving back to the community.”
Dončić has developed a reputation for his kindness to children attending the games and his willing participation in team and NBA meet and greets. He’s regarded as one of the most giving athletes when it comes to children attending games. In a cluster of fans vying for autographs, Dončić searches out the children and youth among them, constantly creating memorable experiences for them.
Dončić said he desires to give back to the game and community that provides him great joy.”
In a Facebook post by Solesearch, the children in Children’s Health Plano are seen with the sneakers and pizza which Luka Dončić donated. Luka said that he wished he was there to personally deliver the gifts he prepared for the children.

Luka Dončić was recently honored by Dallas County with his own holiday for his relentless efforts and community work in Dallas Fort-Worth.
