Dickens Holiday Highlights Event in Plano Goes Digital

Plano’s annual Dickens holiday event will be moving online this year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic according to a Dallas Morning News article published on November 30th. In it they say:

“Christmas celebrations will be different this year during the COVID-19 pandemic, as Plano’s annual Dickens in Downtown festival has been canceled and other events have been curtailed. But the city has lined up a series of virtual events to help keep residents in the holiday spirit, including a series of ‘Dickens Holiday Countdown’ sessions this week leading up to an online edition of the festival, complete with a virtual tree lighting, on Saturday.”

The event was also featured on Community Impact’s article which features a list of holiday events in and around Plano published on November 27th. In it they say:

“In absence of the annual Dickens in Downtown celebration in Plano this year, a week of virtual events will take place on Facebook, including events like Creative S’mores, Meet a Toy Maker and Chainsaw Ice Carving. The week will end with a virtual tree lighting ceremony Dec. 5 at 6:15 p.m. More information can be found on the Plano Arts and Events Facebook page. Free.
