The Kroger Stores in Plano and Allen are set to hold grand reopenings just in time to match the opening of H-E-B in Plano according to a Local Profile article which reports,
“November 2 will be a big day for grocery shoppers with the grand opening of H-E-B Plano. But H-E-B is not the only grocery chain with big plans tomorrow.
Kroger in Plano and Allen will be hosting a grand reopening of the store on November 2 as well. The stores have recently gone through major remodeling and renovations including upgraded cold-food casings and new flooring. The Kroger stores are located at 1212 East Bethany Drive in Allen and 3305 North Dallas Parkway in Plano, three miles away from the new H-E-B.
Marching bands and guest appearances are scheduled for both locations. Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is set to visit the Kroger locations. Both grocery stores will be giving away $25,000 worth of prizes including free groceries and gasoline for a year.”
Kroger is one of the best grocery stores in D-FW and their officials are quite proud of where they are and how they do things according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“Asked about the impact, Kroger spokesman John Votava said, “Sales are up at our stores in Frisco. Our commitment to offer stores that are full, fresh and friendly while supporting our community continues to draw in shoppers.”
“Kroger has been proudly serving the communities of North Texas for 65 years, and we continue to invest in our stores and communities to deliver the freshest grocery experience possible,” said Keith Shoemaker, president of Kroger’s Dallas division.
Kroger, which has the second-largest market share in D-FW after Walmart, is making a point of noting its market longevity. Kroger has operated in both Plano and Allen since the 1990s and has five stores in Plano and three in Allen.”
The competition in the Dallas area especially in Plano will be intense as Kroger and H-E-B stand against each other. However, this is good news for shoppers since they are assured that everything is available right at their doorstep, especially this Christmas season.
