Dental exams

During a comprehensive dental exam, the dentist will assess whether or not there are signs that the patient is experiencing pain. We will also examine the teeth to know if they need to be fixed in any way. We’ll also be looking for other dental issues that could impact the patient’s oral health.

We will examine the patient’s mouth and look for signs of gum disease. Gum disease can cause tooth loss and other health problems. This is done by inserting a periodontal probe between each patient’s tooth and measuring how deep it goes. This gives us an indication of how much gum tissue has been removed between the teeth. We also check for inflammation and bleeding.

To determine if there is any problem with the patient’s jaw, we will place an eye mirror on top and move it around. This will allow us to view the inside of their mouth. We want them to be healthy and not have any problems in their mouths.

There are many reasons why we may take radiographs or X-rays, but the main reason is to check for decay in the back of your mouth. This can cause pain if it’s not found early on. We may also find cavities very close to the gum line that need to be treated soon before they become a bigger problem.

Children’s dentist

Cavities and tooth decay in children can develop at any time, even when they are just two years old. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental suggests that children bring their child in for their first appointment when they’re 18 months or younger to ensure that there aren’t any overbite or structural issues. Because your child’s primary teeth might last a lifetime (if cared for and treated), we recommend bringing them in at least twice a year to ensure there aren’t any major issues.

Before our team of highly skilled dentist professionals begin the adolescent oral examination, we will ensure that your child is comfortable and relaxed. We will speak to your child during the appointment and let them know what’s going on so that they are able to participate. The child will be assisted to relax in one or more of our comfortable treatment chairs. The basic oral exam will be followed by an xray.

After that, we will speak with you about the dental health of your child and make recommendations on how to maintain their remaining teeth.

We recommend establishing healthy habits early, as they will help your kid’s teeth stay stronger and avoid problems later on. As your child gets older, a fluoride treatment and dental sealants might be recommended to protect their teeth. If we find a problem, our staff will create a custom treatment plan that meets your child’s needs. We will accommodate any special requests such as music playing during an appointment or providing a child-friendly distraction.

We are always delighted to see your child’s smiles in our office.

Dental Cleaning

A dentist cleans, scales, polishes, and removes calculus and plaque from patients’ teeth.

Dental hygienists work closely with patients. Because they are responsible for cleaning the teeth, they need to be very familiar with their work.

We use different tools and water sprays to clean the teeth of our patients. Sometimes, we also use special toothpaste. There are many instruments available, including various types of drills, brushes, scrapers and scrapers. The instruments can also be used to polish the teeth using special polishing solutions and disks. Before scaling and polishing can begin, it is essential to clean out all plaque and calculus.

We use the most modern hygienic equipment for faster, more comfortable cleanings. For example, an ultrasonic cleaning device we use employs high-speed vibrations and a lubricating spray to gently remove debris. The smaller particles of plaque will be removed using handheld instruments, such a scaler and curette. For optimal dental health, a dental hygienist may recommend you return every six months for teeth cleaning.

In order to prevent gum diseases, the dental hygienist must clean out tartar and plaque off patients’ teeth. If they don’t do this treatment at regular intervals, the patient may suffer accelerated tooth decay or gum disease. Regular dental visits are made as easy and convenient as possible for the entire family.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction refers to the surgical removal one or more wisdom teeth. These are permanent adult teeth that rest at the back end of your mouth. A wisdom tooth may be extracted by a dentist or an oral surgeon.

Wisdom tooth extraction is recommended by some dentists and or surgeons even if there are no problems. Regular checkups are important to detect potential problems and allow for x-rays.

A wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure for the removal of a ‘wisdom’ tooth due to various complications such as:

  • Wisdom teeth that have been impacted

  • Angled toward the neighboring tooth or back of jaw

  • Stuck in the jawbone

  • Becomes a cause of pain

  • Periodontal disease can result.

  • Causes decay in neighboring tooth due to trapped food

  • Cyst formation in the wisdom tooth

  • Interferes in orthodontic treatment

In most cases patients are given local anesthetic to numb the area and a sedative to relax them so they won’t feel any pain.

Oral Sedation might be used in the rare case where patients are extremely anxious.

If it’s not too complicated, you can go home the same night as your wisdom tooth extraction. However you’ll need someone who will drive you and stay with that person for 24hrs.

It is possible to return to work after wisdom tooth removal, but you should avoid strenuous activity for at most two or three days.

Many dental practices can remove wisdom teeth but in cases where the wisdom tooth or teeth are moderately impacted, you may need an oral surgeon. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental also has an excellent oral surgeon, so there is no need to have your case referred.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers are used to treat a variety of oral conditions. Clinical dental practice adopted it commercially in 1989 for treatments on tooth tissue.

Laser dentistry might be more convenient than traditional drills and other equipment.

Laser dentistry uses two types of procedures: hard tissue and soft tissues. Hard tissue refers directly to the teeth. Soft tissue refers solely to the gums. Lasers can be used to cut (ablation), vaporize (excited plasma) or remove decay. The laser energy is absorbed into the cells, causing them to rapidly evaporate when applied to the gums.

Initial dentists focused on treating hard tissue. Lasers could not be used to treat soft tissues. Laser dentistry has been around for a while, but only recently was it applied to gum treatments.

Scientists have discovered that the wavelengths at which lasers absorb the most energy are dependent on the tissue and application. It is possible to determine the appropriate laser for a particular application by looking at wavelengths in nanometers. This is possible with different types of lasers.

Sutures are not required with soft tissue Lasers. Bleeding is reduced in treated soft tissues as the laser stimulates blood clotting. With some treatments, anesthesia isn’t necessary. The chance of bacterial infections is decreased due to the laser’s antibacterial effect. The laser’s antibacterial effect speeds up wound healing and allows for tissue regeneration. This procedure may cause less discomfort than traditional methods.

Soft tissue procedures have some drawbacks. The light from the laser is absorbed by water within the cells. This causes them to evaporate quickly, leading to pain and decreased elasticity of the gum tissue. The laser can only be used on the tooth that is being treated for hard tissue procedures. Stray beams could cause tissue damage during soft tissue procedures.

Call us today to arrange an examination to determine if laser dentistry is right in your case. We are the leading dental clinic offering specialized laser treatment near Frisco Senior Center.

Tooth White Fillings

Today, instead of silver or gold fillings, platinum and other alternatives are available. The amalgam fillings are a high-strength and natural-looking alternative to silver or gold. They can also be used as composite resins fillers.

Composite fillings today are the most preferred type of filling material. Composite fillings blend with the natural tooth color and are attached to the tooth by a bonding agent. This prevents them falling off. Composite fillings have a higher durability rating than gold or silver.

Composite resin is used to make white fillings. It can easily be color-matched with your natural teeth, so it’s almost invisible. Composite tooth-colored fillings actually adhere to the tooth, rather than sitting on top of it like silver and gold fillings do. Composite fillings are much less likely than gold to break or fall out. Tooth-colored fillings are better than silver, as they are more durable and less likely to crack or break. They are almost undetectable.

Composite tooth-colored tooth fillings stay bonded to the teeth they are placed into. Your oral health does not depend on the adhesive joining dissimilar materials. This allows composite fillings to be stronger and last longer than any other type of fillings.

Tooth colored fillings can also be used to restore broken-down molars, which are susceptible to fracture because they lack the support that natural chewing forces provide to teeth located in the front of your mouth. Tooth colored filling material is strong enough to restore a fractured molar, and is therefore a better choice for restoring your chewing ability.

Ceramic materials can also be used to make tooth-colored fillings. This material has the same compressive strength as tooth enamel and is available in crowns. They bond well to both composite resin and tooth enamel, and are also strong.

Call Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental to see if you’re a good candidate for composite resin fillings. We’re one of the top dental providers of this modern filling in the Frisco Senior Center area.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation dentistry allows your dentist to complete any complicated dental procedure without difficulty. It involves the use of medication to put the patient in a state of sleep. This is also called sleep dentistry.

Minimal sedation is the most mild level of sedation. It ranges from a feeling that you are awake to almost unconscious. It is used by the patient to allow them to feel comfortable and relax. It is used to calm fears and anxiety. The patient is able to breathe through a mask, or face piece, that is similar to a clear plastic bags.

Moderate sedation is used to promote relaxation and sleep during treatment. It is often combined with Nitrous Oxide (or laughing gas). However, the medication used to achieve this level of sedation may be administered by injection or intravenously through a drip in your arm.

Deep Sedation results in the patient being completely unaware of all that is happening. This must be continuously monitored by trained staff. This type of sedation is used for severe surgical procedures and trauma cases.

Anaesthesia, which is the most powerful form dental sedation, doesn’t cause pain to the patient and leaves them totally unaware of what’s happening. The patient will be completely incapacitated and need to be closely monitored by trained staff. This type of sedation is used for severe dental procedures such as complex oral surgery, extractions of large numbers of teeth, and extensive root canal work. This level of Sedation requires that you stay longer in the dental office under observation than any other.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has all levels sedation dentistry available in Frisco Senior Center.

Root canal treatment

Endodontic treatment (also known as a root-canal) is a procedure to save a tooth from further damage and infection. Most people take painkillers to relieve a toothache. This doesn’t actually help, and taking anti-inflammatory medication long term can be bad for your kidneys and doesn’t address the real issue.

Root canal treatment is a way to eliminate the infection. Although the procedure is simple, it can be quite time-consuming.

Endodontic treatment is performed in between two and three sessions by an endodontist. To ensure that you don’t feel any discomfort, we use local anesthesia. To identify the diseased tooth, dental x-rays may be taken.

We will clean and seal your tooth to keep germs out. The composite will then be used to fill the tooth. To enhance protection, a dental crown can be used in some cases.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has been providing endodontic treatments for patients in or around Frisco Senior Center for years.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a restorative technique for teeth that aims to strengthen them or improve their form. It is essentially a crown that covers a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, or appearance.

Dental crowns can be made in many materials such as ceramics, porcelains, stainless steels, and precious metals like Gold. The amount of decay and physical properties of the material determine which material is used. You can also get crowns in porcelain, full ceramic, or a mixture of metal and porcelain depending upon your requirements.

Porcelain Crowns are used to cover damaged teeth or those that have had extensive restorations. These crowns can be used for damaged teeth, such as chips or cracks. Since the treatment is primarily used to restore a damaged tooth rather than strengthen it, porcelain crowns often have a higher demand among patients who want an aesthetic restoration.

A dental Crown will replace your existing filling material. This will give your tooth strength and protection from any future damage. Individuals who have had a root-canal procedure and wish to avoid more extensive work in the future may find this a good option. Crowns are also able to be used on cosmetic or damaged teeth due to cracks or chips.

A dental inlay or crown may be an option for you. It’s easy to do. Our dentist will examine your mouth and create a crown that can be worn after a week based on the impressions you provide. While your permanent crown is being made, you might be given a temporary one.

The dentist may suggest a dental bridge if a tooth cannot be restored with a crown. A bridge may help replace missing teeth, repair facial structure, and improve your bite. There are many types, but all of them include crowns on one side or the other of the missing tooth. The “pontic”, which is a false tooth placed between the anchoring teeth (also known as abutment), can also be used to replace the missing tooth. Our dentist can also create false teeth in our office.

The bridge replaces the missing tooth. Bridges can be made after you have had your remaining teeth extracted (such as during an implant procedure), or after you lose teeth due to periodontal disease.

Dental implants

A dental implant is a surgical fixture inserted into the jawbone. The bone will connect to the implant over the next few months. The dental implant acts as a substitute for the root of a lost tooth. In turn, this “artificial tooth root” supports a replacement tooth or bridge.

An attached dental implant to the jawbone looks like a natural tooth. It stands alone and is stable. “Osseointegration,” or the integration of jawbones and dental implants, is what we call it.

Dental implants made up of most of titanium are considered to be part of the body. Implant placement results have been improved by technology and science.

Implants may be used for the replacement of one, several, or all teeth. The goal of dentistry’s tooth replacement is to restore both functionality and attractiveness.

Implants are the best option for people who have lost their teeth or can’t maintain healthy oral health due to missing or removed teeth.

Many dentists near Frisco Senior Center offer dental implants. Implants are not all created equal.

According to PubMed.gov, More than 220 implant brands have been identified, produced by about 80 manufacturers. Different types of implants are available. Each one is made from different materials. A dentist could theoretically choose between more than 2000 implants for a patient with a particular treatment need. Implants made from titanium and titanium alloys appear to perform well clinically in properly surgically prepared bone, regardless of small variations of shapes and forms. Many surface treatments are currently being used to improve the ability to anchor the implant more quickly into bone. A large number of manufacturers’ claims regarding superiority due to design characteristics do not reflect sound clinical scientific research. Some implant sales are made in parts of the World without demonstrating compliance to international standards.

At Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, we ensure that you get the very best quality standards available in modern implant technology. Call us to make an appointment and find out if implants are right fit for you.

Dentures

Implants are more expensive than dentures (depending on what case it is). Dentures, partial or full, tend to be cheaper than implants.

Dentures, also known as false teeth, are devices that replace missing teeth. These are removable devices that can change your gums or shade the color of your lips.

Healthy gums are required to keep dentures in their place. Bridges can be used to replace missing teeth. Dental implants or dentures [may be used to replace missing teeth].

Different types of dentures include:

* Traditional complete full dentures

* Partial dentures

* Custom dentures

* Intermediate (between partials & full) denture

* Snap-in dentures

* Snap-on dentures

* These are overdentures, which can be combined with dental implants. [1]

Traditional complete denture: Also known as standard or conventional fixed full, the traditional complete denture is the most durable, cost-effective, and long-lasting type of full dental work.

Your dentist will take an impression of your gums and teeth.

The roof, or palate, is constructed with a metal framework which supports the wire clasps.

Partial denture. A partial denture also known as a “temporary part denture” is when you have some teeth left.

Attach clasps to the remaining teeth to hold partial dentures in place.

It is most often worn as an orthodontic retainer. However, it can be removed at night or while eating.

Custom denture: A custom denture is made from an impression of your upper or lower jaw, using a special material.

It fits snugly and comfortably better than standard dentures.

Snap-ins: Snap-ins can be attached by suction. There is no need to attach clasps.

Because they don’t need to be relined, they are considered an “no-prep” alternative to traditional dentures.

Your dentist will make snap-in dentures for you in a dental lab. This involves taking a plaster of your jaw, gums and then fitting the denture into your mouth to make sure it is a perfect fit.

After learning how to adjust and insert your denture yourself, you will no longer need to visit the dentist for adjustments.

Overdentures (or overdentures): An overdenture can be a “fixed” partial denture, which is attached to dental Implants for support.

An implant-supported partial denture is more secure because it rests on top implants.

An implant-supported dental overdenture has two parts. It consists of a metal frame that snaps onto dental implant posts and a replacement or additional tooth attached to that frame.

Overdentures usually are made in dental laboratories. There, technicians use molds (molds), to model your jaw and gums.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental serves as a top provider of dentures in the area. We’ll collaborate with you in designing the most functional, attractive and affordable dentures for your full- or partial teeth.
