Dental exams

Our dentist will inspect the mouth for signs and symptoms that may indicate pain or discomfort. To determine if any teeth need to be repaired, we will also inspect them. We’ll also be looking for other dental issues that could impact the patient’s oral health.

We will inspect the patient’s teeth and also examine any signs or symptoms that may indicate problems with their gums. Gum disease may lead to other health issues, including tooth loss. This involves inserting a probe called a “periodontal probe” between each tooth. We then feel how deep it penetrates. This helps us know how much gum tissue is left in between each tooth. We also check for inflammation and bleeding.

To check if the patient has a problem with their jaw, we will place the mirror on top of the patient’s mouth and move the mirror around to get a complete view of the inside and teeth. We want to make sure that their teeth are staying healthy and the muscles around them are not causing any problems.

We will also take X-rays or radiographs for many different reasons, but one reason is to check for tooth decay at the very back of the mouth. If it isn’t detected early, this can lead to pain. Sometimes, cavities may be found very close to the gum line and need to treated quickly to prevent them from becoming a bigger problem.

Pediatric dentistry

Cavities and tooth decay in children can develop at any time, even when they are just two years old. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental recommends your child visit Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental for their first dental appointment at 18 months or younger. We can ensure that there aren’t any structural or overbite issues. If properly taken care of, your child’s primary tooth can last a lifetime. However, we recommend seeing them at least twice per year to check for any problems.

Before the team of experienced dental professionals starts the adolescent exam, we will ensure your child is at ease and secure. We’ll talk to your kid throughout the appointment and explain what’s happening so they can participate in the process. They will be assisted in relaxing in one of our pleasant and comfortable treatment seats. After a basic exam, an x-ray will be taken.

After this, we will talk with you about your child’s dental health and give a recommendation on how to protect the teeth they have remaining.

Healthy habits should be established early to help your child’s smile stay strong and prevent problems later. For your child’s protection, it may be a good idea to apply dental sealants or fluoride treatments. If our staff detects a problem, we’ll develop a customized cure plan that takes your kid’s greatest care and comfort into account. We can also accommodate special requests, such as music or a diversion for children.

We love seeing your smiling faces and look forward to seeing them in the future.

Dental Cleaning

A dentist cleans, scales, polishes, and removes calculus and plaque from patients’ teeth.

Dental hygienists must be in close contact to patients. They are responsible in cleaning teeth.

We clean patient’s teeth with different types of instruments and water sprays, may also use special toothpaste. Many types of instruments include brushes, drills, and scrapers. They polish patient’s teeth using special polishing solution or disks. Before scaling and polishing can begin, it is essential to clean out all plaque and calculus.

The most recent hygienic tools are used for more efficient and comfortable cleaning. Our ultrasonic cleaning equipment uses high-speed vibrations combined with a lubricating spray in order to gently remove any debris. Handheld instruments, such as a curette or scaler, will be used to remove smaller fragments of plaque. For optimal dental health, a dental hygienist may recommend you return every six months for teeth cleaning.

To prevent gum disease, dentists need to clean the teeth of tartar or plaque. Patients who don’t have regular dental visits may experience gum disease or tooth decay. Our goal is to make regular dental appointments as easy for everyone.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction refers to the surgical removal one or more wisdom teeth. These are permanent adult teeth that rest at the back end of your mouth. A dentist or an oral surgeon may perform a wisdom tooth extraction.

Even if impacted tooth are not causing problems, some dentists or oral surgeons suggest wisdom tooth removal to prevent future problems. Problems can be detected early by regular checkups and x-rays.

Wisdom tooth extraction is a procedure to remove a wisdom tooth. This can be done due to several complications, such as:

  • Impacted wisdom tooth

  • Angled towards neighboring teeth or back of jaw

  • Stuck in the jawbone

  • Pain can become a problem

  • Periodontal disease occurs when this happens.

  • Because of trapped food, decay can occur in neighboring teeth.

  • Development of cysts around wisdom tooth

  • Interferes orthodontist treatment

Patients are usually given a local anesthetic and a mild sedative to help them relax so that they don’t feel any pain.

Oral sedation may be recommended for patients who are anxious in rare instances.

If your wisdom teeth extraction is simple, you can drive home the same day. However, you will need someone to drive and stay with for 24 hours.

Your wisdom tooth extraction should allow you to return to work on the same day, however strenuous activities should be avoided over the next two to three days.

There are many dentists that can remove wisdom. However, if the wisdom tooth or other teeth are severely impacted, an oral surgeon may be required. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has a highly skilled oral surgeon who can perform wisdom teeth removals.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers are used to treat a variety of oral conditions. It was first commercially available in 1989 for the treatment of tooth tissue.

Laser dentistry is a less painful option than drills and other non laser equipment.

Two main types are used in laser dentistry: hard tissue procedures and soft tissue procedures. Hard tissue refers the teeth, while soft tissue is the gums. Lasers can be used to cut (ablation), vaporize (excited plasma) or remove decay. When used on gums, the laser energy is absorbed by water in the cells causing them to evaporate rapidly.

Initial dentists focused on treating hard tissue. Lasers could not be used to treat soft tissues. Laser dentistry has been around since the early days, but it was not used for gum treatment until recent years.

Scientists have discovered that laser wavelengths with the highest absorption are different for different applications and tissues. To determine which laser is best for a given job, the wavelengths can be measured in nm. There are many types of lasers available.

There is less need for sutures with soft tissue lasers. Treatments of soft tissue lasers reduce bleeding because the laser stimulates clotting. In some cases, anesthesia may not even be required. Because of the laser’s antibacterial action, there is less chance of getting bacterial infections. Lasers are faster at healing wounds and can promote tissue regeneration. The procedure can be less painful than traditional ones.

However, with soft tissue procedures there are some disadvantages that must be considered. The laser light is absorbed into the cells by water, which causes them to evaporate quickly. This results in pain and a loss of elasticity in the gum tissues. Another factor to consider is that with hard tissue procedures, the laser is only applied to the tooth being worked on. Stray beams can cause damage to the surrounding tissues in soft tissue procedures.

Call us today for a consultation to see if laser dental care is right for your needs. We are one of the best dental clinics near Oaks that offers specialized laser treatments.

Tooth White Fillings

There are other options available today, including platinum, which is a better choice than gold and silver fillings. The high-strength, natural-looking fillings known as amalgam fillings can be placed today rather than silver or gold (also known as composite resin fillers).

Composite fillings today are the most preferred type of filling material. Composite fillings can be matched to your natural teeth by being matched with their natural colors. A bonding agent is used to secure them to the tooth to prevent them falling off. Composite fillings are often preferred over gold and silver fillings due to their durability.

White fillings can be made of high-strength, composite resin and can easily match your natural tooth color. This makes them virtually invisible. Composite tooth color fillings that match the tooth’s color actually stick to it. They don’t just sit on top of it like gold or silver. You are far less likely to have a composite filling fall out, which can be a problem with gold fillings. Tooth-colored fillings outperform silver because they are stronger, more resistant to breaking or cracking, and virtually undetectable.

Composite tooth-colored tooth fillings stay bonded to the teeth they are placed into. Your oral health does not depend on the adhesive joining dissimilar materials. This gives composite tooth-colored fillings a greater durability and strength than other types.

Tooth-colored dental fillings can also help to restore damaged molars. Tooth-colored filling material can be used to repair a fractured tooth and restore your chewing ability.

Tooth-colored fillings can be made out of ceramic materials that are also used for crowns, which have the compressive strength to tooth enamel. They are strong and can bond well to tooth enamel as well as to composite resin.

Call Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental to see if you’re a good candidate for composite resin fillings. We are a leading provider of this type of modern filling in the Oaks vicinity.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation dentistry allows your dentist to complete any complicated dental procedure without difficulty. It involves putting the patient to sleep using medication.

Minimal Sedation refers to the simplest level of sedation. It can range from being awake to almost unconscious. It is used to make the patient feel relaxed and comfortable. It is used to alleviate any fears that patients may have. To do this, nitrous Oxide (or laughing gas), is administered through a mask.

Moderate Sedation is mainly aimed at producing a state of relaxation and sleep during dental treatment. It may be combined with Nitrous Oxide, or laughing gas. This medication can be administered intravenously via a drip or injection to your arm.

Deep Sedation leaves the patient unaware of the situation and must be closely monitored by staff. This level is often used in severe trauma cases and for long-term surgical procedures.

Anaesthesia is the most powerful form. This sedation does not cause any pain. The patient is completely unaware that anything is happening. The patient cannot move and must be continuously monitored by trained staff. This method of sedation can be used to treat serious dental issues such as complicated or lengthy root canal surgery, large-scale extractions and complex oral surgery. This level of sedation will require you to remain in the clinic for longer periods of time than with any other type of sedation.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental offers all levels of sedation dentistry in the Oaks area.

Root canal treatment

Endodontic treatment is also known as root canal. It involves saving a damaged tooth and eliminating the infection. Painkillers are often prescribed for toothaches. This does not help. Taking long-term anti-inflammatory drugs can cause kidney damage.

Root canal treatment on the other side eliminates the infection. It’s a very straightforward procedure but may require multiple sittings.

Endodontic treatment is performed in between two and three sessions by an endodontist. We utilize local anesthesia to numb the region so that you feel no discomfort. Dental xrays are taken to determine the condition of the tooth.

We will clean the tooth and seal it with composite to stop germs from infecting the first session. The tooth is then filled with composite. To provide protection, a dental Crown may be necessary in some instances.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has been providing endodontic treatments for patients in or around Oaks for years.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown, which is a technique to strengthen or improve the form of teeth, is called a restorative procedure. A crown is basically a cap used to cover a tooth to restore its size and strength. It also enhances its appearance.

Dental crowns are made of a variety materials like ceramics and porcelain as well as stainless steel and precious metals. The amount of decay and physical properties of the material determine which material is used. Crowns can be made from full ceramic, porcelain or a combination of metal and porcelain depending on the needs.

Porcelain Crowns are used to cover damaged teeth or those that have had extensive restorations. These crowns are ideal for any teeth that have suffered damage such as chips or cracks. Since the treatment is primarily used to restore a damaged tooth rather than strengthen it, porcelain crowns often have a higher demand among patients who want an aesthetic restoration.

A dental crown can replace the old filling material, and it will strengthen your tooth by protecting it against future damage. This is a great option for people who have had to have a root canal done and want to avoid further work. Crowns can be used to repair or replace cosmetic teeth that are damaged or compromised by chips or cracks.

A dental crown or inlay may be suitable for anyone, including children. It is very painless. A dentist will examine your mouth to determine if you are a good candidate for a crown. Then, he or she will make the necessary adjustments and place it in your mouth. You might also receive a temporary crown while your permanent one is being created.

If a tooth is too far gone for a crown, the dentist may suggest a bridge. A bridge may help replace missing teeth, repair facial structure, and improve your bite. There are many types and styles of bridges. All include crowns placed on either the side of the missing or damaged tooth. Additionally, a “pontic”, or false tooth, is placed between anchoring teeth. Also known as abutment, teeth. Our dentist can also create false teeth in our office.

A bridge replaces one tooth or more that are missing. Bridges may be used after you’ve had any remaining teeth removed (such a during a dentist’s implant procedure) or after your teeth have been lost due to periodontal disease.

Dental implants

A dental implant is a surgical fixture that is inserted into the jawbone and allowed to connect with the bone over a few months. The dental implant acts as a substitute for the root of a lost tooth. In turn, this “artificial tooth root” supports a replacement tooth or bridge.

Attached to the bone, a dental crown is a permanent tooth that can be used to replace a missing tooth. “Osseointegration” refers to the integration of dental implant and jawbones.

Most dental implants are made of titanium. This allows them to be integrated into the body and not be recognized as foreign objects. Dental implant placement has improved significantly through technology and scientific research.

Dental implants can be used to substitute one, several or all of a patient’s natural teeth. Dentistry’s goal is to replace teeth that are functional and beautiful.

Dental implants are the best treatment option for individuals who have lost teeth, or cannot engage in healthy oral care due to missing or extracted teeth.

Many dentists near Oaks offer dental implants. Implants are not all created equal.

PubMed.gov has identified more than 220 implant brands, which were produced by around 80 manufacturers. Implants are made of different materials and have different surface treatments. They come in different sizes, shapes, and widths. In theory, the dentist can choose from more than 2000 implants depending on the patient’s treatment needs. Implants made out of titanium and titanium alloys are clinically proven to work well in bone that has been surgically prepared properly. To increase the anchorage speed of the implant into the bone, various surface treatments have been developed. A lot of the claims made by different manufacturers about superiority because of design characteristics are not supported with long-term clinical scientific research. Implants are, in some parts of the world, manufactured and sold with no demonstration of adherence to any international standards.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental ensures that you have the best possible quality in implant technology. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call us.

Dentures

Based on the case, dentures can be partial or full and are generally more affordable than implants.

False teeth are also called dentures. They replace missing teeth. These are removable devices that can change your gums or shade the color of your lips.

For dentures to stay in place, it is important that you have healthy gums. Bridges can be used to replace missing teeth. Dental implants or dentures [may be used to replace missing teeth].

There are many types of dentures:

* Traditional complete full dentures

* Partial dentures

* Custom dentures

* Intermediate (between partials & full) denture

* Snap-in dentures

* Snap-on dentures

* These are overdentures, which can be combined with dental implants. [1]

Traditional full full denture. This type is often the most cost-effective and longest-lasting.

It is done by your dentist by taking impressions of your gums, teeth and mouth on each side.

The roof or palate is made up of a metal frame that supports the wire clasps.

Partial denture: This is a temporary partial denture that can be used when only a few of your teeth are left.

Clasps attach to the remaining tooth teeth to keep partial dentures in their place.

It’s most commonly worn like an orthodontic retainer. You can also take it out when you are eating or at night.

Custom denture: A custom denture is made from an impression of your upper or lower jaw, using a special material.

It is more secure and comfortable than a normal denture.

Snap-ins: Snap-ins can be attached by suction. There is no need to attach clasps.

They can be used as a no-prep alternative to traditional teeth because they don’t need to have their lines relined.

Your dentist will make snap-in dentures for you in a dental lab. This involves taking a plaster of your jaw, gums and then fitting the denture into your mouth to make sure it is a perfect fit.

You won’t have to visit your dentist again after you learn how to adjust and place the denture.

Overdentures are a partial denture that can be “fixed” and attached to dental implant support.

Because it rests on top, implants, an implant-supported denture will usually provide a more secure fit than other types.

Implant-supported overdentures are made up of two parts. A metal frame snaps onto dental implant posts, and a replacement tooth (or teeth) attached to it.

Overdentures usually are made in dental laboratories. There, technicians use molds (molds), to model your jaw and gums.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, a leading provider of dentures near Oaks, is the best. We’ll work together with you to find the perfect combination of functionality, looks, and affordability for your dentures.
