Dental exams

Our dentist will inspect the mouth for signs and symptoms that may indicate pain or discomfort. We’ll also check the teeth for any signs that they may need to be treated. We’ll also inspect the teeth for any other oral problems that may be affecting the patient’s health.

In addition to checking the patient’s teeth, we also check for any signs of problems with their gums. This is essential because gum disease can lead to many other health issues and may even cause tooth loss. This involves inserting a probe called a “periodontal probe” between each tooth. We then feel how deep it penetrates. This gives us an indication of how much gum tissue has been removed between the teeth. We will also be looking for signs of bleeding or inflammation.

We will place a mirror over the patient’s mouth to check for any problems. Then we will move it around to give us a clear view of their teeth. We want them to be healthy and not have any problems in their mouths.

We will also take X-rays or radiographs for many different reasons, but one reason is to check for tooth decay at the very back of the mouth. If it isn’t detected early, this can lead to pain. Sometimes, cavities may be found very close to the gum line and need to treated quickly to prevent them from becoming a bigger problem.

Children’s dentistry

Tooth decay and cavities can occur in children at any age, even as young as two years. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental recommends your child visit Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental for their first dental appointment at 18 months or younger. We can ensure that there aren’t any structural or overbite issues. Your child’s first teeth could last a lifetime, if properly maintained and treated. We recommend that they be seen at least twice annually to make sure they don’t have any serious issues.

We will ensure your child feels comfortable before our team begins the adolescent dentistry examination. We will talk to your child throughout the appointment, explaining what is happening and how they can take part in it. They will be assisted in relaxing in one of our pleasant and comfortable treatment seats. An initial mouth exam and x-ray will then be performed.

We will then talk to you about your child’s dental health, and make a recommendation for how to preserve the remaining teeth.

Healthy habits should be established early to help your child’s smile stay strong and prevent problems later. A fluoride treatment or dental sealants may be advised to protect the teeth as your child grows older. If we find a problem, our staff will create a custom treatment plan that meets your child’s needs. We may be able to accommodate any special requests you might make, such a play of music during the appointment, or a diversion that is child-friendly.

We love to see the smiles on your kids’ faces when they visit our office. We look forward to helping them stay healthy for many years!

Dental Cleaning

A dental hygienist cleans teeth, performs scaling and polishing, removes plaque and calculus from patient’s teeth.

Dental hygienist’s work in close contact with patients. Because they are responsible for cleaning the teeth, they need to be very familiar with their work.

We use different kinds of instruments, water sprays and special toothpaste to clean our patients’ teeth. There are many instruments available, including various types of drills, brushes, scrapers and scrapers. They polish the patient’s smiles with special polishing liquid and disks. It is very important to remove all plaque and calculus from patient’s teeth before they can start scaling and polishing.

The latest equipment in hygiene allows for quicker and more comfortable cleaning. Our ultrasonic cleaning equipment uses high-speed vibrations combined with a lubricating spray in order to gently remove any debris. Handheld instruments, such as a curette or scaler, will be used to remove smaller fragments of plaque. For optimal dental health, a dental hygienist may recommend you return every six months for teeth cleaning.

Gum disease is preventable by dental hygienists removing tartar and plaque from patient teeth. The patient could suffer from gum disease and tooth decay if they do not perform this treatment regularly. Our goal is to make regular dental appointments as easy for everyone.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction refers to the surgical removal one or more wisdom teeth. These are permanent adult teeth that rest at the back end of your mouth. A wisdom tooth may be extracted by a dentist or an oral surgeon.

Wisdom tooth extraction is recommended by some dentists and or surgeons even if there are no problems. It is possible to predict problems by having regular checkups or x-rays.

Wisdom tooth extraction is a procedure to remove a wisdom tooth. This can be done due to several complications, such as:

  • Impacted wisdom tooth

  • Angled toward the neighboring tooth or back of jaw

  • Immobilized in the jaw bone

  • Becomes a cause of pain

  • Periodontal disease may develop.

  • Causing decay of neighboring teeth due to trapped food

  • Development of cysts around wisdom tooth

  • Interferes in orthodontic treatment

Most patients receive a local anesthetic to numb their area and a sedative for relaxation to relieve any pain.

Oral Sedation might be used in the rare case where patients are extremely anxious.

If you are not very complicated, you may be able to go home the same day as your wisdom teeth removal. However, you will need someone else to drive you around and stay with you for 24hrs.

After your wisdom teeth extraction, you should be able return to work within a day. However, strenuous activities should be avoided for at least two to three days.

Although many dentists can remove wisdom, some situations may require the intervention of an oral surgeon. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental also has an excellent oral surgeon, so there is no need to have your case referred.

Laser Dentistry

The practice of dental lasers is the use of lasers to treat a wide range of oral diseases. It was first commercially available in 1989 for the treatment of tooth tissue.

Laser dentistry is a less painful option than drills and other non laser equipment.

Hard tissue and soft tissue are the main types of laser dentistry. Hard tissue refers specifically to the teeth while soft tissue refers primarily to the gums. Lasers can be used on teeth to remove decay, vaporize (excited Plasma), and cut (ablation). The laser energy is quickly absorbed by water and evaporated when it’s applied to gums.

Initial dentists focused on treating hard tissue. Lasers could not be used to treat soft tissues. Laser dentistry is a technology that has been in use for some time. However, it was not widely used until recent times to treat gum disease.

Scientists have discovered that laser wavelengths with the highest absorption are different for different applications and tissues. To determine which laser is best for a given job, the wavelengths can be measured in nm. In this respect, there are many different types of Lasers.

There is less need for sutures with soft tissue lasers. Bleeding is reduced in treated soft tissues as the laser stimulates blood clotting. With some treatments, anesthesia isn’t necessary. The laser’s ability to reduce bacteria means that there are fewer chances of getting bacterial infection. The laser’s antibacterial effect speeds up wound healing and allows for tissue regeneration. This procedure may cause less discomfort than traditional methods.

There are some downsides to soft-tissue procedures. The light from the laser is absorbed by water within the cells. This causes them to evaporate quickly, leading to pain and decreased elasticity of the gum tissue. Another factor to consider is that with hard tissue procedures, the laser is only applied to the tooth being worked on. Stray beams could cause tissue damage during soft tissue procedures.

Call us today for a consultation to see if laser dental care is right for your needs. We are one the most renowned dental clinics in St. Paul offering laser treatments.

Tooth White Fillings

Today, instead of silver or gold fillings, platinum and other alternatives are available. Amalgam fillings, also known as composite resin fillers, are stronger and more natural-looking than silver and gold.

Composite fillings today are the most preferred type of filling material. Composite fillings can be matched to your natural teeth by being matched with their natural colors. A bonding agent is used to secure them to the tooth to prevent them falling off. Many people opt for composite fillings rather than silver and gold fillings because they are more durable.

White fillings can be made of high-strength, composite resin and can easily match your natural tooth color. This makes them virtually invisible. Composite tooth-colored dental fillings adhere to the tooth rather than sitting on top, as silver and gold fillings. Composite fillings are less likely to fall out than gold fillings. Tooth colored fillings are superior to silver because they are more durable, less likely to break or crack, and are virtually undetectable.

Since composite tooth-colored filling material remains bonded to the tooth it is fixed into, your oral health does not depend upon the adhesive joining of two dissimilar materials. This gives composite tooth-colored fillings a greater durability and strength than other types.

Tooth colored fillings can also be used to restore broken-down molars, which are susceptible to fracture because they lack the support that natural chewing forces provide to teeth located in the front of your mouth. Tooth colored filling material is strong enough to restore a fractured molar, and is therefore a better choice for restoring your chewing ability.

Ceramic materials are used in crowns to create tooth colored fillings. They have the same compressive strength and color as enamel. In addition to being strong, they bond well both to tooth enamel and to composite resin.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental may be able to determine if the candidate is suitable for composite resin restorations. We’re one of the top dental providers of this modern filling in the St. Paul area.

Sedation dentistry

The dentist can perform any complex dental procedure with no difficulty using sedation dentistry. It involves putting the patient to sleep using medication.

Minimal sedation is the most mild level of sedation. It ranges from a feeling that you are awake to almost unconscious. It is used to make the patient feel relaxed and comfortable. It is used to calm fears and anxiety. The patient is able to breathe through a mask, or face piece, that is similar to a clear plastic bags.

Moderate sedation is used to promote relaxation and sleep during treatment. This is often combined with Nitrous Oxide (or laughing gas). This medication can be administered intravenously via a drip or injection to your arm.

Deep Sedation is a form of sedation where the patient is often unaware of what’s happening and must be monitored by trained staff. This level of sedation is usually used in trauma cases or for extensive surgical procedures.

Anaesthesia, which is the most powerful form dental sedation, doesn’t cause pain to the patient and leaves them totally unaware of what’s happening. The patient will be completely incapacitated and need to be closely monitored by trained staff. This method is only used for more serious procedures, such as extensive root canal treatment, complicated oral surgery, and the removal of large amounts of teeth. This level of Sedation requires that you stay longer in the dental office under observation than any other.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental is one of the few dental practices offering all levels of sedation dentistry near St. Paul.

Root canal treatment

Endodontic treatment, also known as a root canal, is a procedure that involves saving a diseased tooth by eradicating the infection and preventing further harm. Painkillers are often prescribed for toothaches. This does not help. Taking long-term anti-inflammatory drugs can cause kidney damage.

Root canal treatment eliminates the infection. Root canal treatment is very simple, but it can take multiple sessions.

Endodontic treatment is performed in between two and three sessions by an endodontist. We utilize local anesthesia to numb the region so that you feel no discomfort. Dental xrays can help to diagnose the tooth that is infected.

We’ll clean the tooth and seal it to prevent germs from infecting it in the first session. We will then fill the tooth using composite. To provide protection, a dental Crown may be necessary in some instances.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has been offering endodontic treatments to patients in or near St. Paul since many years.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a restorative technique for teeth that aims to strengthen them or improve their form. A crown is simply a cap that’s applied to a tooth in order restore its size, strength, form, and appearance.

There are many options for dental crowns. They can be made from ceramics, porcelain or resin. The amount of decay and physical properties of the material determine which material is used. You can also get crowns in porcelain, full ceramic, or a mixture of metal and porcelain depending upon your requirements.

Porcelain crowns often cover teeth that have been through large-scale restorations or root canals. They are also great for treating damaged teeth such as chips and cracks. Porcelain crowns are more commonly requested by patients who desire an aesthetic restoration, since they are used to strengthen a tooth and not repair it.

The dental crown replaces the old filling material. It will make your tooth stronger and protect it from further damage. This can be a great choice if you’ve had a rootcanal and don’t want any more work. Crowns may also be used for cosmetic problems such as chipped or cracked teeth.

A dental crown or inlay may be suitable for anyone, including children. It is painless. Your dentist will inspect your mouth and make a crown. This can be worn within one week depending on the impressions we take. A temporary crown may be made while the permanent one is being constructed.

If a tooth is too far gone for a crown, the dentist may suggest a bridge. A bridge can be used to replace missing teeth or repair facial structure. It may also improve your bite. There are many types, but all of them include crowns on one side or the other of the missing tooth. The “pontic”, which is a false tooth placed between the anchoring teeth (also known as abutment), can also be used to replace the missing tooth. These false teeth are also created in the office by our dentist.

The bridge is used to replace each tooth on either side of the space where one or more teeth are missing. Bridges may be used after you’ve had any remaining teeth removed (such a during a dentist’s implant procedure) or after your teeth have been lost due to periodontal disease.

Dental implants

Dental implants are a surgical fixture that is placed into the jawbone. It is then allowed to attach with the bone in a few months. A dental implant replaces the root of a tooth that is lost. This “artificial root tooth” then supports a bridge or replacement tooth.

A dental implant attached to the jawbone can stand alone on its own, and it has great stability. “Osseointegration,” also known as the integration or fusion of dental implants with jawbones, is a term that describes the process of integrating dental implants with jawbones.

Dental implants made up of most of titanium are considered to be part of the body. Technology and study have advanced over time to improve dental implant placement outcomes considerably.

Dental implants can be used to substitute one, several or all of a patient’s natural teeth. Dentistry’s goal is to replace teeth that are functional and beautiful.

Dental implants are the best treatment option for individuals who have lost teeth, or cannot engage in healthy oral care due to missing or extracted teeth.

Many dentists near St. Paul offer dental implants. However, not all implants are the same.

PubMed.gov claims that there are more than 220 different implant brands. They have been produced by over 80 manufacturers. Different types of implants are available. Each one is made from different materials. In theory, the dentist can choose from more than 2000 implants depending on the patient’s treatment needs. Implants made out of titanium and titanium alloys are clinically proven to work well in bone that has been surgically prepared properly. There are many surface treatments that can be used to enhance the speed of anchorage. Many manufacturers make claims about superiority based on design characteristics. However, these claims are not supported by long-term clinical research. Implants can be manufactured in certain areas of the globe without any demonstration that they adhere to any international standards.

At Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, we ensure that you get the very best quality standards available in modern implant technology. We can help you decide if implants might be right for your needs.

Dentures

Based on the case, dentures can be partial or full and are generally more affordable than implants.

Dentures, also known as false teeth, are devices that replace missing teeth. They are removable appliances that can support or alter the color or shape your gums and lips.

For dentures to stay in place, it is important that you have healthy gums. The bridge can replace the missing teeth. Dental implants or dentures [may be used to replace missing teeth].

Different types include:

* Traditional complete full dentures

* Partial dentures

* Custom dentures

* Intermediate (between partials & full) denture

* Snap-in dentures

* Snap-on dentures

* These overdentures can be used in conjunction with dental implants. [1]

Traditional complete full denture: The traditional complete full denture, also referred to as a standard or conventional fixed full denture, is usually the least expensive and most durable type of full denture.

It is created by your dentist from an impression taken of the gums or teeth on each of your cheeks.

The metal frame supports the wire clasps that hold the roof or palate in place.

Partial Denture: When some of your natural teeth are missing, a partial denture (also known as a temporary partial or partial denture) is used.

The clasps attach to the remaining dentures to fix partial dentures.

It’s worn most of the time as an orthodontic retainer. But, sometimes, it can be taken out at night and while you eat.

A custom denture can be made by taking an impression from your upper or lower jaw using a special materials.

It’s designed to fit more securely and comfortably than a standard denture.

Snap-ins: Snap-ins can be attached by suction. There is no need to attach clasps.

They can be considered a “no prep” alternative to traditional dental dentures because they do not require relining.

Your dentist will make your dentures in a dental laboratory. First, he’ll take a plaster model from your jaw and gums. Next, he’ll fit the denture inside your mouth.

After you have learned how to adjust your denture and insert it yourself, you won’t ever need to return to your dentist for adjustments.

Overdentures (or overdentures): An overdenture can be a “fixed” partial denture, which is attached to dental Implants for support.

Implant-supported overdentures are usually more stable and secure than other partial dentures because they rest on top of implants.

An implant-supported overdenture consists of two parts. One is a metal frame which snaps onto the dental implants posts and another part that attaches to that frame with a replacement tooth.

Overdentures are often made in a dentist’s lab. Here, technicians create models (molds of your gums and jaw) to make the device.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, a leading provider of dentures near St. Paul, is the best. We will work closely with you to create the best dentures for your partial or full mouth.
