Dental exams

During a dentist exam, we will check for any signs that a patient might be suffering from pain or discomfort. We’ll also check the teeth for any signs that they may need to be treated. We’ll also look for any other dental problems that may affect the patient’s oral health.

We will inspect the patient’s teeth and also examine any signs or symptoms that may indicate problems with their gums. Gum disease can lead other health problems, and may even cause tooth death. This involves inserting a probe called a “periodontal probe” between each tooth. We then feel how deep it penetrates. This will allow us to see how much gum tissue is still between each tooth. We will also examine the gums for signs of inflammation or bleeding.

To determine if there is any problem with the patient’s jaw, we will place an eye mirror on top and move it around. This will allow us to view the inside of their mouth. We want to check that their teeth and muscles are in good health.

We may also need to take radiographs and X-rays. However, one reason we do so is to check for any decay in the back part of the mouth. If this is not detected quickly, it can cause severe pain. There may also be cavities near the gum line, which should be treated immediately to avoid further damage.

Children’s dentistry

Even at two years of age, cavities and tooth decay can be present in children. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental recommends that your child’s first visit is made when they are at least 18 months of age. This will allow us to check for any structural or overbite problems. Because your child’s primary teeth might last a lifetime (if cared for and treated), we recommend bringing them in at least twice a year to ensure there aren’t any major issues.

We will make sure your child feels secure and at ease before our team of skilled dental professionals begins the adolescent dental examination. We will talk to your child throughout the appointment, explaining what is happening and how they can take part in it. We will assist them in relaxing in one our comfy treatment seats. An initial exam of the mouth will be done, then an x ray.

After this, we’ll talk with your child about their dental health and make a recommendation as to how to save the teeth that are still there.

Healthy habits should be established early to help your child’s smile stay strong and prevent problems later. To protect your child’s teeth, you may need to use dental sealants or fluoride treatment. Our staff will determine if there is a problem and develop a plan to fix it. We may be able to accommodate any special requests you might make, such a play of music during the appointment, or a diversion that is child-friendly.

We love seeing your smiling faces and look forward to seeing them in the future.

Teeth Cleaning

A dentist cleans, scales, polishes, and removes calculus and plaque from patients’ teeth.

Dental hygienists keep in touch with patients. They must be knowledgeable about their job as they are responsible to clean the teeth.

We use different tools and water sprays to clean the teeth of our patients. Sometimes, we also use special toothpaste. You can use many different kinds of tools, such as brushes, drills and scrapers. The instruments can also be used to polish the teeth using special polishing solutions and disks. Before polishing and scaling can be started, it’s important to eliminate all plaque and calculus.

For faster and more comfortable cleanings, we use the latest hygienic equipment. Our ultrasonic cleaning equipment uses high-speed vibrations combined with a lubricating spray in order to gently remove any debris. Handheld instruments, such as a curette or scaler, will be used to remove smaller fragments of plaque. For optimal dental health, a dental hygienist may recommend you return every six months for teeth cleaning.

Dental hygienist need to remove tartar and plaque from patient’s teeth in order to prevent gum disease. The patient could suffer from gum disease and tooth decay if they do not perform this treatment regularly. We make it as easy for the whole family to have regular dental visits.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction involves the surgical removal or replacement of one or more wisdom tooth. A wisdom tooth may be extracted by a dentist or an oral surgeon.

Some dentists and oral surgeons advocate wisdom tooth extraction even if impacted teeth don’t currently cause issues as a method to avoid future difficulties. It is possible to predict problems by having regular checkups or x-rays.

A wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure for the removal of a ‘wisdom’ tooth due to various complications such as:

  • Wisdom tooth with an impact

  • Angled towards the neighboring tooth or back side of jaw

  • Stuck within jaw bone

  • Pain can become a problem

  • Periodontal disease occurs when this happens.

  • Because of trapped food, decay can occur in neighboring teeth.

  • Cyst formation around wisdom teeth

  • Interferes with orthodontic treatment

Patients receive local anesthetics to numb the affected area, and sedatives to relax them so that there is no pain.

Oral sedate may be an option in some cases, such as when patients are very anxious.

If you are not very complicated, you may be able to go home the same day as your wisdom teeth removal. However, you will need someone else to drive you around and stay with you for 24hrs.

It is possible to return to work after wisdom tooth removal, but you should avoid strenuous activity for at most two or three days.

Most dental practices can extract wisdom teeth. However, in cases where the wisdom or moderately impacted teeth need to be removed, you might need to consult an oral specialist. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has a highly skilled oral surgeon who can perform wisdom teeth removals.

Laser Dentistry

The practice of dental lasers is the use of lasers to treat a wide range of oral diseases. It was first commercially available in 1989 for the treatment of tooth tissue.

Laser dentistry can be more comfortable than non-laser equipment and drills for treating a wide range of hard and soft tissue conditions.

There are two main types for laser dentistry: soft tissue and hard tissue. Hard tissue refers the teeth, while soft tissue is the gums. Lasers can be used on teeth to remove decay, vaporize (excited Plasma), and cut (ablation). When used on gums, the laser energy is absorbed by water in the cells causing them to evaporate rapidly.

At first, dentists treated only hard tissue because it was believed that lasers could not treat soft tissue. Laser dentistry has been around for a while, but only recently was it applied to gum treatments.

Scientists have found that the highest absorption wavelengths of lasers vary for different tissues and applications. The wavelengths in nm can be used to determine which laser is appropriate for a given application. You can choose from a variety of lasers.

There is less need for sutures with soft tissue lasers. Treatments of soft tissue lasers reduce bleeding because the laser stimulates clotting. In some cases, anesthesia may not even be required. The laser’s ability to reduce bacteria means that there are fewer chances of getting bacterial infection. The laser’s antibacterial effect speeds up wound healing and allows for tissue regeneration. This procedure may cause less discomfort than traditional methods.

There are some downsides to soft-tissue procedures. Laser light is absorbed quickly by water in cells. This causes the cells to evaporate rapidly. This can cause pain and dehydration of the gum tissues. Also, lasers are only used on the tooth being treated in hard tissue procedures. Stray beams can cause damage to the surrounding tissues in soft tissue procedures.

To see if laser dentistry is right for you, call us today to schedule an exam. We’re one of the top dental clinics offering specialized laser treatments near Willow Bend Country.

Tooth White Fillings

Instead of gold or silver fillings, there are now platinum and other options. Instead of silver or gold fillings, you can place the natural-looking and high-strength amalgam fillings. Also known as composite resin fillers.

Today’s preferred filling material is composite fillings. Composite fillings blend with the natural tooth color and are attached to the tooth by a bonding agent. This prevents them falling off. Composite fillings are often preferred over gold and silver fillings due to their durability.

White fillings are constructed of a high-strength composite resin that can be easily color-matched to your natural tooth, making it virtually undetectable. Composite tooth color fillings that match the tooth’s color actually stick to it. They don’t just sit on top of it like gold or silver. Composite fillings tend to stay in place longer than traditional gold fillings, and are therefore less likely for them to come loose. Tooth-colored fillings can be more easily detected than silver. They are more durable, less likely break or crack and they are virtually invisible.

Composite tooth-colored tooth fillings stay bonded to the teeth they are placed into. Your oral health does not depend on the adhesive joining dissimilar materials. This allows composite fillings to be stronger and last longer than any other type of fillings.

Tooth colored fillings may also be used for the restoration of broken-down and fractured molars. Tooth color filling material is stronger than traditional tooth-colored ones and can thus be used to restore chewing function.

Ceramic materials can also be used to make tooth-colored fillings. This material has the same compressive strength as tooth enamel and is available in crowns. They are strong and can bond well to tooth enamel as well as to composite resin.

Call Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental to see if you’re a good candidate for composite resin fillings. This is a modern filling that we offer in our Willow Bend Country office.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation dentistry makes it possible for your dentist to perform complex dental procedures without any difficulty. It entails putting the patient into a sleep-like condition using medication, hence it is also known as sleep dentistry.

Minimal Sedation (or minimal sedation) is the least severe form of sedation. The state can range from being almost conscious to being awake. It is used to make the patient feel relaxed and comfortable. Its primary purpose is the relief of fear. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is administered through a mask or facepiece that looks similar to a clear bag.

Moderate sedation is intended to produce a relaxed state and sleep during dental treatment. It may be combined with Nitrous Oxide, or laughing gas. The medication to achieve this level may be administered intravenously or by injection.

Deep Sedation leaves the patient unaware of the situation and must be closely monitored by staff. This level of sedation can be used in cases of trauma or extensive surgical procedures.

Anaesthesia, which is the most powerful form dental sedation, doesn’t cause pain to the patient and leaves them totally unaware of what’s happening. The patient will be completely incapacitated and need to be closely monitored by trained staff. This type of sedation should only be used for serious dental treatments such as extractions of many teeth, complex oral surgery, or extensive root canal work. This level of Sedation requires that you stay longer in the dental office under observation than any other.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, one of the few practices that offer all levels in sedation dental care near Willow Bend Country.

Root canal treatment

Endodontics, also called a root canal or a root graft, is a treatment that saves a tooth with a decayed tooth. This involves eradicating the infection and preventing any further damage. The first thing most people do when they get a toothache is to take painkillers. It doesn’t help. Long-term use of anti-inflammatory medications can cause kidney damage and may not address the root problem.

Root canal treatment is a way to eliminate the infection. Although the procedure is simple, it can be quite time-consuming.

Endodontic treatment can be performed in as little as two to three sessions. We utilize local anesthesia to numb the region so that you feel no discomfort. To identify the diseased tooth, dental x-rays may be taken.

We’ll clean the tooth and seal it to prevent germs from infecting it in the first session. We will then fill the tooth using composite. In certain cases, a crown can be used to protect the tooth.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental has been providing endodontic treatments for patients in or around Willow Bend Country for years.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a restorative technique for teeth that aims to strengthen them or improve their form. A crown is basically a cap used to cover a tooth to restore its size and strength. It also enhances its appearance.

There are many options for dental crowns. They can be made from ceramics, porcelain or resin. The material used is determined by the extent of decay present on the tooth, as well as the physical properties of the material. Crowns can be made from full ceramic, porcelain or a combination of metal and porcelain depending on the needs.

Porcelain crowns often cover teeth that have been through large-scale restorations or root canals. They are also great for treating damaged teeth such as chips and cracks. Porcelain crowns are more commonly requested by patients who desire an aesthetic restoration, since they are used to strengthen a tooth and not repair it.

A dental crown will replace any old filling material. Your tooth will be stronger because it is protected against further damage. Individuals who have had a root-canal procedure and wish to avoid more extensive work in the future may find this a good option. Crowns can be used to repair or replace cosmetic teeth that are damaged or compromised by chips or cracks.

A dental crown, or inlay, may be suitable to anyone, even children. It is painless. Our dentist will examine your mouth and create a crown that can be worn after a week based on the impressions you provide. While your permanent crown is being made, you might be given a temporary one.

The dentist may recommend a bridge for teeth that are too far away from a crown. A bridge is a way to replace missing teeth and correct facial structure. There are many types. Most include crowns placed on either one or both sides of the missing tooth. Sometimes, there is also a “pontic” (false) between the anchoring tooth. These are also known as abutment and lateral teeth. This is also how our dentist creates false teeth.

The bridge is used to replace each tooth on either side of the space where one or more teeth are missing. After you have had all of your teeth removed, such as during a dental procedure to place a bridge or after you have lost any teeth due to injury or periodontal disease, you can also use a bridge.

Dental implants

A dental implant is a surgical fixture that is inserted into the jawbone and allowed to connect with the bone over a few months. Dental implants are used to replace the root of a damaged tooth. This “artificial teeth root” is used to support a bridge or replacement tooth.

A dental implant that is attached to the jawbone is similar to a natural tooth in that it stands on its own and has excellent stability. “Osseointegration,” is the integration between dental implants and jawbones.

The majority of dental implants are composed of titanium, which allows them to become part of the body without being recognized as a foreign object. The technology and research have improved the outcomes of dental implant placements.

Dental implants may be used to replace one, several, or all of a patient’s teeth. Dentistry’s goal in tooth replacement is to restore functionality as well as aesthetic appeal.

For those who have lost or cannot take care of their oral health because of missing or extracted teeth, dental implants may be the best option.

Many dentists near Willow Bend Country offer dental implants. Implants are not all created equal.

PubMed.gov reports that more than 220 implant brand names have been identified. These brands are produced by approximately 80 manufacturers. Different materials are used to make implants. The surface treatments vary and the shapes and sizes of the implants can be different. In theory, the dentist can choose from more than 2000 implants depending on the patient’s treatment needs. Implants made from titanium, titanium alloys and other titanium materials perform well clinically in properly prepared bone. Many surface treatments are currently being used to improve the ability to anchor the implant more quickly into bone. A lot of the claims made by different manufacturers about superiority because of design characteristics are not supported with long-term clinical scientific research. Implants are, in some parts of the world, manufactured and sold with no demonstration of adherence to any international standards.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental guarantees that you will receive the most advanced implant technology. We can help you decide if implants might be right for your needs.

Dentures

In most cases, dentures, either partial or complete are cheaper than implants.

Sometimes called false teeth, dentures can be used to replace missing teeth. These are removable appliances that support and change the shape or color of your gums, lips, and mouth.

Dentures must be held in place by healthy gums. Bridges can be used to replace missing teeth. Dental implants or dentures [may be used to replace missing teeth].

There are several types of dentures available:

* Traditional complete full dentures

* Partial dentures

* Custom dentures

* Intermediate (between partials and full) denture

* Snap-in dentures

* Snap-on dentures

* These overdentures can be used in conjunction with dental implants. [1]

Traditional full denture: This is the most durable and cost-effective type of full denture.

Your dentist will take an impression of your gums and teeth.

The roof or palate is supported by a metal framework. This supports the wire clasps.

Partial denture: A partial denture, also known as a “temporary partial denture,” is used when some of your teeth remain.

Clasps attach to the remaining tooth teeth to keep partial dentures in their place.

Most often, you wear it much like an orthodontic retainer, but sometimes you can take it out at night or when eating.

Custom denture: A custom-made denture is one that is made using an impression of the upper or lower jaw and a special material.

It fits snugly and comfortably better than standard dentures.

Snap-in Dentures: Snap in dentures are secured by suction and do not require clasps.

They can be considered a “no prep” alternative to traditional dental dentures because they do not require relining.

Your dentist will make your dentures in a dental laboratory. First, he’ll take a plaster model from your jaw and gums. Next, he’ll fit the denture inside your mouth.

After you have learned how to adjust your denture and insert it yourself, you won’t ever need to return to your dentist for adjustments.

Overdentures: A partial denture “fixed” to a tooth that is eventually attached to dental implants.

An implant-supported partial denture is more secure because it rests on top implants.

An implant-supported overdenture consists of two parts. One is a metal frame which snaps onto the dental implants posts and another part that attaches to that frame with a replacement tooth.

Overdentures are typically made in a dental laboratory. Technicians use molds (molds), of your jaw and gums to create the device.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental, a leading provider of dentures near Willow Bend Country, is the best. We’ll collaborate with you in designing the most functional, attractive and affordable dentures for your full- or partial teeth.
