Common Treatments We Offer Here

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental is one of the top rated dental practices in the Northern Dallas area.

We offer complete care, unlike many other area providers. General dentistry, cosmetic, pediatric, smile design, reconstruction and other surgical procedures are all available.

Dental exams

During a comprehensive dental exam, the dentist will assess whether or not there are signs that the patient is experiencing pain. The dentist will also examine your teeth to see if they require any treatment. We’ll also inspect the teeth for any other oral problems that may be affecting the patient’s health.

In addition to checking the patient’s teeth, we also check for any signs of problems with their gums. This is essential because gum disease can lead to many other health issues and may even cause tooth loss. This involves inserting a probe called a “periodontal probe” between each tooth. We then feel how deep it penetrates. This will allow us to see how much gum tissue is still between each tooth. Also, we will look out for bleeding gums or inflammation.

To see if the patient’s jaw is in trouble, we will put a mouth mirror on top. We will then move it around so that we have a clear view inside the mouth. We want to ensure that the patient’s teeth and surrounding muscles are healthy.

We can also take radiographs or Xrays for many reasons. One reason is to check the very back for tooth decay. If not caught early, this could cause pain. There may also be cavities near the gum line, which should be treated immediately to avoid further damage.

Children’s dentist

Tooth decay and cavities can occur in children at any age, even as young as two years. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental advises bringing your kid in for their first visit when they are 18 months old or younger so that we may ensure there are no overbite issues or structural problems. Your child’s primary teeth can last a lifetime if they are properly cared for. We recommend that you bring them in twice a year to make sure there are no major problems.

We will ensure your child feels comfortable before our team begins the adolescent dentistry examination. We will be available to talk with your child throughout the procedure and provide information so that they can fully participate. They will be assisted in relaxing in one of our pleasant and comfortable treatment seats. An initial mouth exam and x-ray will then be performed.

Then, we will discuss your child’s oral health with you and offer a recommendation about how to keep their teeth healthy.

We recommend that you establish healthy habits as soon as possible. This will help to ensure your child’s teeth are strong and free from any potential problems. Your child may benefit from dental sealants and fluoride treatment. If our staff detects a problem, we’ll develop a customized cure plan that takes your kid’s greatest care and comfort into account. We may be able to accommodate any special requests you might make, such a play of music during the appointment, or a diversion that is child-friendly.

We are always happy to see your kid’s smiling faces in our office, and we look forward to keeping them healthy for years to come!

Teeth Cleaning

A dental hygienist cleans teeth, performs scaling and polishing, removes plaque and calculus from patient’s teeth.

Dental hygienist’s work in close contact with patients. Because they are responsible for cleaning the teeth, they need to be very familiar with their work.

We use different kinds of instruments, water sprays and special toothpaste to clean our patients’ teeth. You can use many different kinds of tools, such as brushes, drills and scrapers. They polish the patient’s smiles with special polishing liquid and disks. Before scaling and polishing can begin, it is essential to clean out all plaque and calculus.

We use the most modern hygienic equipment for faster, more comfortable cleanings. Ultrasonic cleaning devices, such as the one we use, employ high-speed vibrations in combination with a lubricating agent to gently remove particles. A curette or scaler are hand-held instruments that can be used to remove small pieces of plaque. For optimal dental health, a dental hygienist may recommend you return every six months for teeth cleaning.

To prevent gum disease, dental hygienists must remove tartar from patients’ teeth. If the treatment is not done regularly, patients may develop gum disease or accelerate tooth decay. We make it as easy for the whole family to have regular dental visits.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom tooth extraction is the removal of one or several wisdom teeth. They are also known as permanent adult tooth. A dentist or an oral surgeon may perform a wisdom tooth extraction.

Wisdom tooth extraction is recommended by some dentists and or surgeons even if there are no problems. Regular checkups are important to detect potential problems and allow for x-rays.

Wisdom tooth extraction is a procedure to remove a wisdom tooth. This can be done due to several complications, such as:

  • Wisdom teeth that have been impacted

  • Angled towards the neighboring tooth or back side of jaw

  • Immobilized in the jaw bone

  • It can cause pain

  • Periodontal disease occurs when this happens.

  • Because of trapped food, decay can occur in neighboring teeth.

  • Development of cysts around wisdom tooth

  • Interferes orthodontist treatment

Patients are usually given a local anesthetic and a mild sedative to help them relax so that they don’t feel any pain.

In rare cases where patients are very anxious, oral sedation may be advised instead.

If it’s not too complicated, you can go home the same night as your wisdom tooth extraction. However you’ll need someone who will drive you and stay with that person for 24hrs.

After your wisdom teeth extraction, you should be able return to work within a day. However, strenuous activities should be avoided for at least two to three days.

While many dental offices can remove wisdom teeth, there are some cases that require an oral surgeon to treat moderately impacted wisdom teeth. Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental also has an excellent oral surgeon, so there is no need to have your case referred.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers can be used to treat many oral diseases. The first commercial use of lasers in clinical dentistry was for treatment of tooth tissue.

Laser dentistry might be more convenient than traditional drills and other equipment.

The two main types of procedures used for laser dentistry are hard tissue and soft tissue procedures. Hard tissue refers to the teeth, and soft tissue refers to the gums. Lasers can be used on teeth to remove decay, vaporize (excited Plasma), and cut (ablation). The laser energy is absorbed into the cells, causing them to rapidly evaporate when applied to the gums.

Initial dentists focused on treating hard tissue. Lasers could not be used to treat soft tissues. So laser dentistry has been around for some time, but just not applied to gum treatment until recently.

Scientists discovered that different tissues and applications have different absorption wavelengths for lasers. To determine which laser is best for a given job, the wavelengths can be measured in nm. This is possible with different types of lasers.

With soft tissue lasers, there is a lesser requirement for sutures. As the laser stimulates blood circulation, bleeding is decreased in treated soft tissues. Laser’s antibacterial effects reduce the chance of developing bacterial infections. The laser’s antibacterial action speeds wound healing and encourages tissue regeneration. This procedure may cause less discomfort than traditional methods.

There are some downsides to soft-tissue procedures. Laser light is absorbed in water cells, causing them to evaporate quickly. This causes pain and loss of elasticity for the gum tissues. Another factor to consider is that with hard tissue procedures, the laser is only applied to the tooth being worked on. For soft tissue procedures there is a risk of damage to surrounding tissues because of stray beams.

Tooth White Fillings

Instead of gold or silver fillings, there are now platinum and other options. The amalgam fillings are a high-strength and natural-looking alternative to silver or gold. They can also be used as composite resins fillers.

Today’s preferred filling material is composite fillings. Composite fillings blend with the natural tooth color and are attached to the tooth by a bonding agent. This prevents them falling off. Many people opt for composite fillings rather than silver and gold fillings because they are more durable.

White fillings can be made of high-strength, composite resin and can easily match your natural tooth color. This makes them virtually invisible. Composite tooth-colored dental fillings adhere to the tooth rather than sitting on top, as silver and gold fillings. You are far less likely to have a composite filling fall out, which can be a problem with gold fillings. Tooth-colored fillings outperform silver because they are stronger, more resistant to breaking or cracking, and virtually undetectable.

Your oral health doesn’t depend on the adhesive joining two different materials. Composite tooth-colored filling material stays bonded to the tooth where it is placed. This allows for greater strength and durability than is possible with other types of fillings.

Tooth-colored dental fillings can also help to restore damaged molars. Tooth colored fillings can restore fractured molars and are therefore better for restoring chewing ability.

Colored tooth fillings can also be made of ceramic materials, which are the same material used in crowns. In addition to being strong, they bond well both to tooth enamel and to composite resin.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental is available to help determine if you are a candidate for composite-resin fillings. We are a leading provider of this type of modern filling in the Wolf Creek Estates vicinity.

Sedation dentistry

Your dentist can complete complicated procedures with ease using sedation dentistry. It involves the use of medication to put the patient in a state of sleep. This is also called sleep dentistry.

Minimal Sedation can be described as the lowest level of sedation. This ranges from almost unconscious to a state that is similar to being awake. It’s used to help the patient relax and feel comfortable. It is used to calm fears and anxiety. The patient is able to breathe through a mask, or face piece, that is similar to a clear plastic bags.

Moderate sedation is intended to produce a relaxed state and sleep during dental treatment. This combination is sometimes combined with Nitrous Oxide (or laughter gas). The medication to achieve this level may be administered intravenously or by injection.

Deep Sedation can cause the patient to lose consciousness and is subject to constant monitoring by trained staff. This level of sedation may be used for trauma cases or complex surgical procedures.

Anaesthesia, the most powerful type of dental sedation allows the patient to not feel pain, and they are completely unaware of the situation. The patient must remain immobile and be monitored by trained staff. This method of sedation can be used to treat serious dental issues such as complicated or lengthy root canal surgery, large-scale extractions and complex oral surgery. However, this level of sedation requires you to stay in the dental clinic under observation for longer than any other form of sedation.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental is one of the few dental practices offering all levels of sedation dentistry near Wolf Creek Estates.

Root canal treatment

Endodontic therapy, also known by the root canal, involves saving a tooth that is infected and preventing it from getting worse. The first thing most people do when they get a toothache is to take painkillers. This is not the best thing for you. In fact, long-term use of antiinflammatory medication can cause damage to your kidneys.

Root canal treatment is a way to eliminate the infection. This is a straightforward procedure that may require several visits.

An endodontist performs endodontic treatment in two to three sessions. To ensure that you don’t feel any discomfort, we use local anesthesia. To identify the diseased tooth, dental x-rays may be taken.

We’ll clean the tooth and seal it to prevent germs from infecting it in the first session. We will then fill the tooth using composite. To enhance protection, a dental crown can be used in some cases.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental offers endodontic services to patients in Wolf Creek Estates for many years.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown can be used to strengthen teeth or improve their appearance. A crown is simply a cap that’s applied to a tooth in order restore its size, strength, form, and appearance.

Dental crowns are available in a variety of materials, including ceramics, porcelain, resin, stainless steel, and precious metals like gold. The tooth’s condition and the material’s physical characteristics will dictate the choice of material. The material options for crowns vary depending on whether they are full ceramic or porcelain.

Porcelain restorations and root canals can often be covered with porcelain crowns. These crowns can be used for damaged teeth, such as chips or cracks. Because porcelain crowns are used to restore damaged teeth rather than strengthen them, they are often more in demand from patients who wish an aesthetic restoration.

The dental crown replaces the old filling material. It will make your tooth stronger and protect it from further damage. If you have recently had a root canal, this could be an excellent option to save money in the long-term. Crowns may also be used for cosmetic problems such as chipped or cracked teeth.

A dental crown or inlay can be used for any age, even children. It’s painless. Based on your impressions, our dentist will examine you and make a crown that can fit within a week. A temporary crown might be created while the permanent one takes shape.

The dentist may recommend a bridge for teeth that are too far away from a crown. A bridge can be used to replace missing teeth or repair facial structure. It may also improve your bite. There are many types, but all of them include crowns on one side or the other of the missing tooth. The “pontic”, which is a false tooth placed between the anchoring teeth (also known as abutment), can also be used to replace the missing tooth. This is also how our dentist creates false teeth.

A bridge replaces one tooth or more that are missing. After you have had all of your teeth removed, such as during a dental procedure to place a bridge or after you have lost any teeth due to injury or periodontal disease, you can also use a bridge.

Dental implants

Dental implants are surgical fixtures that are placed in the jawbone. They then connect with the bone for a few weeks. Dental implants are used to replace the root of a damaged tooth. This artificial tooth root supports a new tooth or bridge.

A dental implant that is attached to the jawbone is similar to a natural tooth in that it stands on its own and has excellent stability. “Osseointegration” refers to the integration of dental implant and jawbones.

Most dental implants are made of titanium. This allows them to be integrated into the body and not be recognized as foreign objects. The technology and research have improved the outcomes of dental implant placements.

Implants may be used for the replacement of one, several, or all teeth. Dental implants are used to replace teeth.

For those who have lost or cannot take care of their oral health because of missing or extracted teeth, dental implants may be the best option.

Many dentists near Wolf Creek Estates offer dental implants. All implants are not created equal.

PubMed.gov has identified more than 220 implant brands, which were produced by around 80 manufacturers. The implants are made from different materials, undergo different surface treatments and come in different shapes, lengths, widths and forms. In theory, a dentist can select from over 2,000 implants to treat a patient. Implants made out of titanium and titanium alloys are clinically proven to work well in bone that has been surgically prepared properly. There are many surface treatments that can be used to enhance the speed of anchorage. A lot of the claims made by different manufacturers about superiority because of design characteristics are not supported with long-term clinical scientific research. Implants are, in some parts of the world, manufactured and sold with no demonstration of adherence to any international standards.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental ensures that you have the best possible quality in implant technology. Give us a call for an appointment to see if implants are right for you.

Dentures

In most cases, dentures, either partial or complete are cheaper than implants.

Dentures, also known as false teeth, are devices that replace missing teeth. These are removable devices that can change your gums or shade the color of your lips.

For dentures to stay in place, it is important that you have healthy gums. Missing teeth may be replaced with a bridge, which is fixed in place. Dental implants or dentures [may be used to replace missing teeth].

Different types of dentures include:

* Traditional complete full dentures

* Partial dentures

* Custom dentures

* Intermediate (between partials and full) denture

* Snap-in dentures

* Snap-on dentures

* Overdentures are used in conjunction with dental implant. [1]

Traditional complete denture: Also known as standard or conventional fixed full, the traditional complete denture is the most durable, cost-effective, and long-lasting type of full dental work.

It is made by your dentist with an impression of the gums and teeth on each side of your mouth .

The roof or palate is supported by a metal framework. This supports the wire clasps.

Partial denture: A partial denture, also known as a “temporary partial denture,” is used when some of your teeth remain.

Clasps attach to the remaining tooth teeth to keep partial dentures in their place.

It’s most commonly worn like an orthodontic retainer. You can also take it out when you are eating or at night.

Custom denture: A custom denture is made from an impression of your upper or lower jaw, using a special material.

It fits snugly and comfortably better than standard dentures.

Snap-in dentures – Snap-in dentures can be held in place with suction. No clasps are required.

They can be used as a no-prep alternative to traditional teeth because they don’t need to have their lines relined.

Your dentist will create your snap-in dentures by making a plaster mold of your jaw and gums. Then, the denture will be fitted inside your mouth to ensure it fits perfectly.

You won’t have to visit your dentist again after you learn how to adjust and place the denture.

Overdentures (or overdentures): An overdenture can be a “fixed” partial denture, which is attached to dental Implants for support.

A implant-supported overdenture, which rests on top a number of implants, is usually more secure and stable than other types.

Implant-supported overdentures are made up of two parts. A metal frame snaps onto dental implant posts, and a replacement tooth (or teeth) attached to it.

Overdentures are typically made in a dental laboratory. Technicians use molds (molds), of your jaw and gums to create the device.

Bobby Jivnani Plano Dental provides dentures to patients in the Wolf Creek Estates. We’ll work together with you to find the perfect combination of functionality, looks, and affordability for your dentures.
