Plano Braces for Winter

With the winter fast approaching across Plano, Plano Overnight Warming Station remains alert and strong in order to provide shelter towards guests according to a Community Impact article from February 1 which reports,

“The Salvation Army of Plano put out an urgent call for donations Feb. 1 for its Plano Overnight Warming Station ahead of freezing winter weather expected later this week.

A collaborative effort between The Salvation Army, the Collin County Homeless Coalition, the city of Plano and area churches, the station provides short-term emergency shelter for those experiencing homelessness during inclement weather. Individuals who seek shelter at the station, which is located at the Plano Salvation Army headquarters at 3528 E. 14th St., are provided with a safe place to sleep, a meal, a hot shower and clothing items from the organization’s coat closet.

Salvation Army representatives anticipate the shelter will receive 85-plus guests per night during the upcoming freezing overnight temperatures.”
