The late George and Lynore Robinson have gifted Plano ISD the sum of $500,000 to construct a new fine arts center for the school district according to a Community Impact article published on November 4th. The article reports:
“Plano ISD has received a $500,000 gift for the forthcoming Robinson Fine Arts Center, Jamee Jolly, senior executive director of the Plano ISD Education Foundation, announced at a Nov. 4 PISD board meeting. The money was donated by the center’s namesakes, the late George “Robbie” Robinson and his late wife Lynore Robinson. The gift was George’s last donation before his death in October.”
The Dallas Morning News also commented on this exciting event in an article published on November 9th. In it they say:
“The Plano ISD Education Foundation has also announced a fundraising campaign to establish an endowment that will continue Robinson’s legacy by providing additional funding assistance for operating costs. Contributions may be made via the Plano ISD Education Foundation’s website or by contacting Senior Executive Director Jamee Jolly at 469-752-8226 or at [email protected].”
This exciting new Fine Arts Center will be a huge asset to both the students and teachers of the Plano ISD.
